I suggest that newer folks spend some quality time there. I think we have a call on Tuesday, so we can figure out next steps and prioritize them. Hey y'all

so after all that bizbaz here's where I am: I want to get my hands dirt= y
doing something, and while listening and thinking here's what I think I= can
do (right now)

1. Combine the Anchor Archive terms and the LCSH (in current use by the
zinesters) into one controlled list in an RDF vocab (skos probably)

2. Map the xXZineCoreXx to MODS/MARCXML/DC/EAD

To be sure I'm clear, I mean I'd be writing an XSLT which will acce= pt input
as any of the latter and convert it to the former. I could write 4 separate=
ones that go the other way, if folks think that'd be useful too.

 How does that sound? I may need some pointers as to where I could *find* zi= nes
in those 4 formats, as examples are very helpful.

I walked away with an action of "MOAR DOCUMENTATION."=C2=A0 All a= gree?


To that end, I can commit to documenting zine libraries and their metadata = formats (I have notes on this...=C2=A0 I'll put it into a table.)


Also, we'll need to document use cases.


We've been using etherpad, but should we get together a better (public)= online presence / more organized working space?


And regarding Netanel's #1 below, my former colleagues at Miami (Steve = Hersh, Elliot Williams, and I) skosified our local zine subject headings, a= nd linked them to LCSH (and maybe the AA vocab, can't remember).=C2=A0 = Elliot, copied, should still have access to the data (Steve and I have sinc= e moved on).

I am in agreement with the MOAR DOCUMENTATION aspect.=C2=A0 I would be
willing, with some help, to put together a timeline of what has been
done when and post it to http://zinelibraries.info/zine= -union-catalog/
.=C2=A0 I'd want to include stuff like the surveys that have happened r= e:
zinelibs and zinesters' feels about contributing to a union catalog, et= c.

Or maybe an FAQ?

Hi everyone. Thank you for having me. I know I'm new to the group, but = I'd like to jump into the deep end with everybody else! I guess I shoul= d introduce myself first, for those who weren't at Mashcat. I'm a M= etadata and Cataloging Librarian at Iowa State University. I mostly deal wi= th metadata with regards to digital initiatives and archives/special collec= tions.

 I agree with Allison. Documentation is fantastic. Do we happen to have scop= e documentation for this project? E.g. What the purpose of the project is, = What will be included/what won't, Goals of the project, Use cases, etc.= If we do, could anybody point me to it so I can begin immersing myself int= o the project?=C2=A0 [&#X1f60a]

I'm excited about this, and am looking forward to working with everyone= !
