The other wrinkle is that I'd have to find two other METRO member orgs to partner with. I could talk to NYPL <http://www.nypl.org/about/divisions/general-research-division/periodicals-room/zines>, which has a long-standing zine collection. I'm not sure what's up with zines at Brooklyn College <http://brooklyncollegezines.commons.gc.cuny.edu/> and Pratt <http://libguides.pratt.edu/zines>. I'd want to bring in ABC No Rio <http://www.abcnorio.org/facilities/zine_library.html> and maybe Silent Barn <http://ditkoexclamation.tumblr.com/>. It sounds like its the inaugural cohort, and the fellowship applications don't open for another 6 weeks, so maybe they don't have a clear sense of Fellow demographics themselves? With the fellowship just beginning, things may be more fluid in a way that benefits us, on the other hand, if there a flaws in the program management, will be the beta testers. Also, it sounds like they're into matching people with similar projects, which could be cool, but could also be not really what we're looking for. There's already one pitch, http://fellowship.metro.org/node/21 that's looking for something like a "catalog." That said, I feel like our underlying process is about asking really good questions about what we want from a catalog and how to get it, but my sense of the feedback we got at Mashcat was that there maybe other ways to get where we'd like to be that aren't so obvious from our perspective, so there's probably something to be said for asking the fundamental questions to an outside audience. Based on the other pitches so far and a not too urgent deadline, this seems to be something we could put together without a ton of effort on our part.
