Hi Zine Librarian friends, The challenges facing the cultural heritage sector -- inequitable access, under-resourcing, calls for justice and sustainability -- aren't problems any one leader can solve alone. They're systems problems. And they call for a different kind of leadership. This summer and fall, Educopia is hosting a 2-part interactive workshop series: Practicing Systems Leadership for Knowledge Equity: Building Shared Understanding, Mapping Change, and Leading from Where We Are. Systems leadership is an emerging framework that addresses complex challenges by combining a deep understanding of how systems work, inclusive engagement of all stakeholders, and collaborative approaches to driving change. It's not about authority or top-down direction, it's about building the shared understanding and collective capacity that make lasting change possible. In this series, we'll dig into: - What systems leadership looks like in practice in the cultural heritage sector - How to find leverage points within the systems you're already part of - Skills for building shared understanding across communities with different perspectives and power - What it means to lead from where you are—whatever your role or title This isn't a workshop for executives or senior managers only. Systems change doesn't happen only at the top. It happens when people at every level of an organization or community develop the capacity to see the bigger picture, act with intention, and work in genuine solidarity with others.
