throw some money at zinecat?

Hi All,

It's been a minute, or maybe a million minutes since we last emailed. Since
Lauren and I graduated about a year ago, nothing substantial has happened
with the zine union catalog. I'd really like to get another batch or two of
zines ingested, starting with Anchor Archive and OCAD. I don't think I have
the will and the skills to make that happen without help. I'd like to pay
for some developer time. I could pull money out of Barnard's budget, that
I'd set aside for ZineCat dues, but I want to be ethical and aboveboard
about it.

What would help with the ethics and aboveboardness would be other
libraries also throwing in. Do others have the ability to contribute either
library budget or personal funds to put toward labor? I think I can put in
$250 from Barnard and would chip in some of my own money if others do.

Thank you, everyone!!!

Our plan is to write a contract for a developer (first offer goes to
Cassandra, who created http://zinenet.work)for $250 from Barnard and a
non-Barnard contract for another $250 with contributions from:
Jenna
Lauren
Jennifer
Jeremy
Holly
Honor
Violet
Milo

That would be $31.25 each if we divide equally. We'll accept any amount,
though, and pass it on to Cassandra (or whoever does the work with us).

The plan is to pay $50/hr for 10 (or more) hours of work
We'll start with an orientation to the project and CollectiveAccess (some
of the cost of that may be covered by Openflows)
Our primary hope is to get Anchor Archive records uploaded. Second is OCAD.
We will also ask the developer to generate workflow documentation as part
of the process.

With lots of warmth and excitement,

Lauren and Jenna

Since Lauren and I graduated about a year ago, nothing substantial has happened with the zine union catalog. I'd really like to get another batch or two of zines ingested, starting with Anchor Archive and OCAD. I don't think I have the will and the skills to make that happen without help. I'd like to pay for some developer time. I could pull money out of Barnard's budget, that I'd set aside for ZineCat dues, but I want to be ethical and aboveboard about it. >>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> What would help with the ethics and aboveboardness would be other libraries also throwing in. Do others have the ability to contribute either library budget or personal funds to put toward labor? I think I can put in $250 from Barnard and would chip in some of my own money if others do. >>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> xoxojenna >>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> -- >>>>>>>> http://lowereastsidelibrarian.info >>>>>>>> http://zines.barnard.edu >>>>>>>> http://leslzine.storenvy.com >>>>>>>> http://zinecat.org >>>>>>>> she, her >>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> _______________________________________________ >>>>>>>> Zlunioncat mailing list >>>>>>>> Zlunioncat@lists.qzap.org >>>>>>>> http://lists.qzap.org/listinfo.cgi/zlunioncat-qzap.org >>>>>>> _______________________________________________ >>>>>>> Zlunioncat mailing list >>>>>>> Zlunioncat@lists.qzap.org >>>>>>> http://lists.qzap.org/listinfo.cgi/zlunioncat-qzap.org >>>>>> _______________________________________________ >>>>>> Zlunioncat mailing list >>>>>> Zlunioncat@lists.qzap.org >>>>>> http://lists.qzap.org/listinfo.cgi/zlunioncat-qzap.org >>>>> _______________________________________________ >>>>> Zlunioncat mailing list >>>>> Zlunioncat@lists.qzap.org >>>>> http://lists.qzap.org/listinfo.cgi/zlunioncat-qzap.org >>>> >>>> >>>> -- >>>> Holly Wilson >>>> >>>> Associate Professor >>>> >>>> Research & Instruction Librarian >>>> >>>> UFCT 1460 Vice President >>>> >>>> Pratt Institute >>>> >>>> 200 Willoughby Avenue >>>> >>>> Brooklyn, New York 11205 >>>> >>>> hwilson5@pratt.edu >>>> Schedule an appointment with me on Zoom! >>>> >>>> BLACK LIVES MATTER >>>> >>>> Pronouns: she, her, hers >>>> >>>> _______________________________________________ >>>> Zlunioncat mailing list >>>> Zlunioncat@lists.qzap.org >>>> http://lists.qzap.org/listinfo.cgi/zlunioncat-qzap.org >>> >>> >>> -- >>> http://lowereastsidelibrarian.info >>> http://zines.barnard.edu >>> http://leslzine.storenvy.com >>> http://zinecat.org >>> she, her >>> _______________________________________________ >>> Zlunioncat mailing list >>> Zlunioncat@lists.qzap.org >>> http://lists.qzap.org/listinfo.cgi/zlunioncat-qzap.org >> _______________________________________________ >> Zlunioncat mailing list >> Zlunioncat@lists.qzap.org >> http://lists.qzap.org/listinfo.cgi/zlunioncat-qzap.org > > > -- > Jenna Freedman | she, her > Curator of the Barnard Zine Library > make an appointment | https://is.gd/jennacalendar > https://linktr.ee/barnardzinelibrary > > _______________________________________________ > Zlunioncat mailing list > Zlunioncat@lists.qzap.org > http://lists.qzap.org/listinfo.cgi/zlunioncat-qzap.org -- http://lowereastsidelibrarian.info http://zines.barnard.edu http://leslzine.storenvy.com http://zinecat.org she, her _______________________________________________ Zlunioncat mailing list Zlunioncat@lists.qzap.org http://lists.qzap.org/listinfo.cgi/zlunioncat-qzap.org _______________________________________________ Zlunioncat mailing list Zlunioncat@lists.qzap.org http://lists.qzap.org/listinfo.cgi/zlunioncat-qzap.org
