Guys, Take a look at dLOC (Digital Library of the Caribbean): http://www.dloc.com/ It's sort of a digital library/union catalog hybrid. The underlying system (SobekCM <http://sobekrepository.org/>) is free and open-source. It's a clunky interface, but my institution has a stake in ongoing development work, and there's a lot of interest in revamping the design. Major benefits: easy self-submittal of images and metadata, customizable metadata profiles (make one for zinecore), way to add "holdings," way to handle zines cataloged as serials and as monographs (take a look at examples in dLOC). If you guys want to pursue this avenue, I could put together a grant application to tailor Sobek for zines, and probably host it here (we host dLOC, but we're only a partner in administering it). ...Thoughts?
