Hi Mark, I'm reaching out on behalf of the Zine Librarian Interest Group<http://zinelibraries.info/>, following up on some Twitter back-and-forth from a couple months ago (w/ Kelly McElroy and Jenna Freedman). Our group has been laying groundwork for the development of a Zine Union Catalog for the last three years. We're now looking to step into coding and development, thus our interest in a sympathetic someone(s) to supplement the group's skills.

Hi Joshua -- Thanks for your message and my (unfortunately) terribly belated reply! I'm definitely interested to hear more about how the Zine Union Catalog work has been going -- unfortunately a lot of my time is really spoken for to work on implementation, but I'd love to have a conversation with y'all about it. I may also be able to connect you to some other individuals that might be willing to help out. Relatedly, I was wondering if you might be interested in possibly submitting a session proposal DPLAFest (http://dp.la/info/get-involved/dplafest/april-2016/), which will be in Washington on April 14-15. DPLAFest is our annual conference, primarily focused towards the community around the Digital Public Library of America, but open to the public, with large representation from the cultural heritage and education sectors, folks interested in local history and genealogy, and more. We have a current call for presentations out (http://dp.la/info/get-involved/dplafest/april-2016/present/), with a submission deadline of Friday, January 22. In terms of format, we'll accept proposals for 5 minute lightning talks, 45 minute presentations and 90 minute workshops (although if you think another format would be better, you're welcome to propose it). A couple of options to consider: - a 45 minute panel on the development of xZINECOREx and/or the Zine Union Catalog - (for QZAP or others?) contributing to a session on community archives projects - whatever you can think to propose! Let me know if you're interested, and I can answer any questions you might have - and if there are other folk you think might be interested in proposing something, feel free to share both the link to the proposals and my contact information.
