NEH Grant

Hi pals,

It's time to get more serious about the NEH Digital Humanities Advancement
grant! I just talked it over with my in-house developer, and here's what
we're thinking of for our ask (max we can get is $40K, of which we only
really get to spend half):

In-person meeting in NYC, which will cover people's travel, housing, and
food for two nights.

The goals of the meeting will be to

  • establish mutual metadata (aka authority control)
  • develop an organizational structure

I'd also like to see at least one tangible result--seeing the mutual
metadata enacted on records from the three libraries.

Whether we get the grant or not, we want to spend a fair chunk of time at
ZLUC ingesting the rest of the xZINECOREx fields from the three libraries
into zinecat and also making date and publication location smart instead of
flip phone-ish.

Per our professor, the $20K can probably only cover the damn meeting, not
necessarily any programmer or library school student time.

Does this all sound okay to y'all?
