[Zine Librarians] IPRC Zine Library looking for ILS/cataloging system!

Sorry for the delay in chiming in here. We're pretty big advocates for CollectiveAccess, but also recognize that it's not a perfect tool. Prior to moving to CA in 2014, we had a home-grown solution that wasn't great, and also looked very seriously at Koha (too professional library oriented for our skills and use), Omeka (not robust enough, though potentially useful for curated displays and collections), and possibly a roll-your-own solution using Bento/FilemakerPro (MacOS based) and none really fit the bill. We've also used Symphytum internally for cataloging some collections, and it's pretty useful (and FOSS)

TinyCat, Biblionix and Wordpress aren't the best fit for us, so we’re currently leaning towards using CollectiveAccess or another open source system. We don't have a dedicated systems/IT person on staff, so we're applying for grant funding to support hiring a contractor to help us with implementation, etc.
I’m so curious to hear from others about their experiences with different systems and appreciate any guidance, advice or recommendations you care to share!
