Hi Friends,

I had a family thing and then the beginning of the fall semester, which is
bonkers, so my apology for not responding until now. Milo covered
everything anyway.

Welcome, Mel! Join the zine librarians list if you haven't already. That's
where all the convo happens.

I'd love to go to the DZF, but can't promise anything. Holler when you
secure dates.

xoxojenna

Milo, you're the best!

Yes, we're still using MS Access for our catalog at the moment. And Mel is
super enthusiastic about organizing things - from getting the catalog in a
better place to bringing back the Denver Zine Fest!

Mel, let's chat about the Zine Librarians Unconference at our next
meeting. I think we could totally pull this off, and would be an amazing
opportunity to meet a bunch of other rad zine librarians (many of whom I
only know from the Zine Librarian yahoogroup that Milo mentioned.

Milo and Jenna, want to come to the Denver Zine Fest? No dates set yet,
but wanted to plant a seed...

Zines!

Hi Kelly!  Hi Mel! Hi Jenna!
Here's a link to the zine I made about xZINECOREx:

Feel free to print copies and distro as needed. :)

Here are the notes from the combined sessions from this year's ZL(u)C
about xZINECOREx and The Union Catalog:
http://zinelibraries.info/wiki/zluc2014/schedule/zine-union-catalog-part-i/
there's a link at the bottom for pt.2, which is a bit more of a
brainstorm/marching orders session.

Are you still using MS Access/Excel for your catalog?

Finally, Mel, if you're not already, I highly encourage you to join the
Zine Librarians listserv
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/zinelibrarians/conversations/messages
and poke about at some of the other pages on http://zinelibraries.info.

Among the other things we've been working on are a Code of Ethics for ZLs,
and related, a document about creating and adhering to collection policies.

I'll hand the mic to Jenna, who may be able to fill in other deets.

Finally, I'll highly encourage y'all to consider applying to host next
year's ZL(u)C.  You've been doing amazing things, and I think it would be
awesome for you to be able to show them off.

Much Love and Hugs,
Milo

Hey Milo and Jenna,

I want to introduce you to Mel, one of our super-enthusiastic zine
librarians (and star of the recent documentary, if you've gotten a chance
to see that). Now that we're open in our new space, we're starting to jump
back into projects. Mel had been chatting with a friend about cataloging
things and based on that conversation, I wanted to connect all of you about
the big union catalog project. I know I've asked about this before (and
sorry for not tracking those past conversations better). Would you give Mel
(CCed here) an overview of the catalog plan and an update on where things
are at the moment? Milo, I know we have a copy of xZineCorex somewhere, but
we're still not completely unpacked in our new space. Would you be willing
to pass that on as well (I'm not sure if I still have it electronically).

I hope all is well!
Kelly
