ALA post conference, yea or nay?

Hi All,

Disappointingly, Allison wasn't able to get funding to sponsor a zine union
catalog IRL hack party in Gainesville after ALA in Orlando in June.

She can still host us, as in provide rooms for a meeting. Is that of
interest, since a fair few of us will be in central Florida, including
barefooted Milo.

Or would it be better to plan a work day (half a day) for before or after
the zine librarians unconference
http://zinelibraries.info/wiki/zluc-2016-bos/ in Boston at the end of
July. Or both?!?

We can save this convo for our conference call on Monday 3/21 if you like.
I don't think we have a facilitator set yet. Anyone up for driving?

Jenna

In trying to build this sort of collaboration, I'm in favor of as many
face to face meetings, strategy sessions and work days as possible.

Maybe divide up general topics, have one of these be more of a
user/librarian focused planning session and the other be more
technical/code/spec creation focused?

Dual meetups sounds good to me, and I should be able to swing meeting space
for the Boston meetup (my living room at the very least, though a Thursday
half day at the Schlesinger may be more preferable).

Based on people's responses, I'm not sure a post-conference move to
Gainesville is supportable.

We could do Sunday or Monday. Sunday leaves Violet out, and Monday means
less Harry Potter time for Honor.

Anyone else want to weigh in? Milo, do you know your dates yet?

I added another poll to the Etherpad
https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/p/zineunioncatalog, to determine
availability before/after the zine librarians unconference in Boston for
some zine union catalog face time. Will you add your deets?

Also, our next conference call is on Monday. Anyone willing to facilitate?

face to face meetings, strategy sessions and work

             days as possible.

Maybe divide up general topics, have one of these be

             more of a

user/librarian focused planning session and the

             other be more

technical/code/spec creation focused?

Hi All,

Disappointingly, Allison wasn't able to get funding

             to sponsor a zine

union catalog IRL hack party in Gainesville after

             ALA in Orlando in June.

She can still host us, as in provide rooms for a

             meeting. Is that of

interest, since a fair few of us will be in central

             Florida, including

barefooted Milo.

Or would it be better to plan a work day (half a

             day) for before or

after the zine librarians unconference
http://zinelibraries.info/wiki/zluc-2016-bos/ in

             Boston at the end of

July. Or both?!?

We can save this convo for our conference call on

             Monday 3/21 if you

like. I don't think we have a facilitator set yet.

             Anyone up for driving?
