The originals may or may not be available. The coworker has some familiarity with fanzine archives, e.g., Riverside, Fullerton, BGSU, but is looking for our expert advice to share with the affiliate. UNLV's "gaming" collection is actually about gambling, so probably not appropriate. (It is a confusingly named collection!) For zines about physical games, the Brian Sutton-Smith Library & Archives of Play <https://www.museumofplay.org/collections/brian-sutton-smith-library-archives-of-play/> at the Strong Museum of Play <https://www.museumofplay.org/> might be interested. They have a collection of video game fanzines <https://www.museumofplay.org/blog/chris-kohler-fanzine-collection-documents-video-game-culture/> and looking through their catalogue they have some other gaming zines and APAs (including issues of the APA-DUD mentioned in the blog post you linked to). I don't have any contacts at the Strong Museum, but I can reach out to them/some people to get contact info if that makes sense.
