Dear fellow ZineCatters! Mew! I am Kika, member of the outreach team and PhD Candidate wrapping up their zine research! As we have been able to secure some funding, I will now be able to come to Philly for the ALA meeting! Jenna suggested I send a short self-introduction on the mailing list to see if anyone would be able to host me for about a week or wants to share accommodation near the convention center. I am 28 years old, very queer, and I make zines, write poetry, and get stressed about life (including my PhD in Cultural Studies). My PhD is based in Hong Kong at the Chinese University of Hong Kong but I moved back to Belgium since my funding ended in December and am living in my hometown. I love to read and definitely appreciate spending time with friends and having some alone recharge time. Currently I am also looking for a new job (applying at some libraries/archives, so please wish me luck) as I am wrapping my duties as a teacher of Dutch as a second language. I speak Dutch, English, some French (supposedly), and Mandarin Chinese (very limited Cantonese). Thank you for your kindness!
