Hello Zine Community!
I'm working on getting a zine collection started at my community college
and would love to hear how folks who put zines in protective bags manage
the process. My primary concern is how to handle the zines that get taken
out of their assigned bags and don't get put back in the right bag.
I welcome any thoughts or processes that have worked for you.
Thank you!

Hi Sharaya,
We use comic book bags and boards for our zine collection and honestly, I
don't think them getting into the wrong bag has been an issue. (It's a
circulating collection - we house them in bags with boards so they don't
get damaged in backpacks/bags). We have labels with the titles printed on
them on the boards, so there is a visual cue to make sure the label matches
the item title when it gets to circ.
I hope that's helpful.
Best,
Holly

hi! Years ago, I used color-coded stickers, like the little dots you see
at yard sales worked fine for quick visual organization. Super simple,
low-cost, low-tech. Zine with a lil' pink sticker? Into the bag with the
lil' pink sticker it goes! The larger the collection grows the more you
have to dig to find diff colored (or shaped!) stickers but what a good
problem to have.
