Hello all, I received an email late last night from a zinester who is working to spread the word about a couple of zines created by two Palestinian women, available through donation to their respective fundraising campaigns. While I cannot institutionally purchase these zines due to restrictions on spending, I promised that I would pass this along to you all. Here is the original message from Kayla: Hello, My name is Kayla and I am seeking information and/or support with distributing two zines, on behalf of two women who are surviving the genocide in Gaza. One zine is a collection of poetry and illustrations, and the other is a collection of personal stories and photos. Both of these women are hoping to distribute digital or physical copies of their zines in exchange for $10 donations (per copy) to their respective GoFundMe and Chuffed fundraiser campaigns. This mutual aid is essential as they are both living in tents, experiencing famine, and bracing themselves for winter conditions. I would be delighted even if a few different zine libraries would consider purchasing one copy of each. I am not sure where to start with this process. Having created zines myself in the past, I understand they are usually distributed in a more organic process through community spaces, local events, workshops, and the like. I feel that these zines deserve attention and distribution given the attempts of mainstream media to silence their stories.
