Reviewing and selecting Thesaurus Collective applications

Hi all,

I've already received 9 expressions of interest to join the Thesaurus
Management Collective!  I honestly thought I'd get between 0 and 3, so it's
a nice surprise.  Almost all of the people who've written so far are not
currently involved with the Thesaurus, which is also a nice surprise.

I'm wondering who would like to help review the expressions of interest and
decide who to invite to join the Collective?  I suppose ideally the people
who review the (informal) applications will not be applicants themselves,
although I do trust us to be impartial and make decisions that benefit the
project over us as individuals, so I don't think that necessarily needs to
exclude anyone if they want to be part of the "selection committee."
Please let me know if you are able to help.

After I get a few volunteers, I'll make a Doodle poll to schedule a meeting
time to discuss the applications.  The schedule will go something like this:

  • Feb 5 - deadline for expressions of interest
  • Feb 6 - I'll send the expressions to everyone on the committee to
    review
  • Sometime between Feb 10 and 14 - the committee will meet to discuss
    the applications

As always, I'd love to hear other suggestions for the approach and process,
and questions.

Thanks,
Amanda

Hello Amanda,

I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner! I can probably help if I get
more time to review the applications before our meeting.I have no time on
2/5-2/7 because of so many work meetings. I will have more time later that
week and more time the following week. If the committee met on 2/15 or 2/16
to discuss applications, I think I could get through 9 applications with
some useful input!

I had to start physical therapy for my hip a couple weeks ago, so I'm
having regular therapy appointments and extra exercise to complete every
day in my spare time. Also, the hip hurts when I sit too long (which is
annoying because my job is sitting). I'm just finding myself with a lot
less time to get all the things done right now. But, I can do this if you
are still looking for help:)

I hope you are doing well, I got your zines and I'm having lots of fun
reading them!
