I've never run the server end of ZineWiki, so I'm actually not sure. Alan Lastufka started ZW and ran it, then when he wanted to quit, Jerianne and I stepped up since we were to of the big contributors and admins already. But Jerianne's partner got the database files and has been running the back end. I know they have had multiple problems with updating Wiki versions and don't seem to be interested in devoting much time to solving them. And Jerianne isn't very responsive to messages about it, although she does seem open to passing along all the files is someone else wants to host it and get it running correctly. So I think that's the best course of action and I'm happy to facilitate it happening. I'm just as frustrated as everyone else that we've built a great database of zines and it's got somewhat crippled usability. Thanks for the info, Dan! I emailed Jerianne earlier this week and followed up on Facebook today. If a week or so goes by, might it be worth it to write to Denny directly? I don't think I have an address for him. If I do, it would be from 2011, so possibly no longer active. I could also reach out to Alan, in case he still has root. I haven't been in touch with him in a long time either, but I'm friends with him on Facebook. Dan, what do you think is the best strategy?!? Alan can't help, he transferred all the files to Jerianne and Denny so long ago. We really need Jerianne to respond and get on board for moving and fixing it. I may still have Denny's direct email address in my sent mail from years ago, let me do some digging. I'd be happy to host it, I have server space. But I don't know anything about running the wiki back end. I'm also happy to pass it along to someone else that knows the tech end if they are dedicated to keeping it growing and thriving for a couple years. And I think if we can get all the files, a smart move would be for at least one more person to have a back up, so it's not so dependent on one person.
