Most of the library, craft, and zine-related communities I've seen have
been in Discord, although some of them have considered migrating
considering the age verification policies that Discord has recently taken
on. Personally, anything where we could more easily have live conversations
AND access past posts would make this much more accessible and usable.

For e-mail list continuity, Riseup.nethttps://riseup.net/en/lists
provides listserv hosting for a lot of groups, including a number of
library-related lists.

For existing spaces there are:
Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/zinelibraries/
Discord (Zines & GLAM: Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums):
https://discord.gg/4ZjFE7VZx7

I believe Slack removes access to messages after 90 days unless you have a
paid plan.

Hi all

In other communities I am part of Telegram has proved to be a good tool to
use. It does have a bit more "immediacy" than an email list does (and you
do have to go and check it outside of just checking your email) but it does
have the function like Slack to allow a group to have various topics.

I think it's great to have a place to refer new zine librarians to, for

I also think it's good for us in these specific times (both due to
politics and climate/disaster related stuff), to have a way to reach out to
each other and to communicate.

Is there currently any other zine librarian online location where people
can connect?
I'm on several writers' groups that migrated from Facebook to Slack. Slack
allows a group to have various topics, so as writers we have things like
General, News, Publishing, Rants, etc. It notifies you when there's a new
post. I don't know anything about how it was set up or how it is monitored.

Hi All,

Our email and website host, Dream Host, is no longer supporting email
lists. We'll migrate this list sometime before the cutoff on July 21
(International Zine Libraries Day lol).

I pay for the web hosting and so am sort of an involuntary sysadmin with
much needed support from Milo and Joanna. Do any of you have thoughts and
feelings about where this list should move (not Google)? Traffic here has
slowed down considerably. Should we consider dropping the email list
altogether?

Your opinions and expertise are wanted and welcome!

Jenna
