[Zine Librarians] Zine libraries + Social Media

Hello all,

What are you doing with their zine library-related
Twitter/Facebook/Instagram accounts?  Deleting them? Letting them go
dormant?

What sites are you using for zine library-related social media?

I've been considering what to do with some of the zine-related Facebook
groups and Instagram accounts I run, because I don't know if it's worth
still having a presence on those websites. I deleted all the Twitter
accounts last year.

Best,
Matthew

It's a good question, something that's been on my mind.

I'll suggest deleting or at least locking down the @ZinePavilion twitter
account https://x.com/zinepavilion at one of our next meetings. I also
wonder about the @ZineLUC twitter account https://x.com/ZineLUC. I had
considered talking with folks about setting up a zine library-related
Bluesky account, but I think I may try to do more updating of the
ZineLibraries.info website instead. If someone's compelled to start a zine
librarianship Bluesky account, please feel free! (Maybe share the login
info with someone else in the community in case you lose capacity/interest?)

Thanks,
Violet

I also support discontinuing Twitter. I'm not sure about deleting accounts,
though.

I think the Facebook group is still useful. Maybe add some additional
administrators if it's burdensome or you want out? I'd love to see
someone(s) manage a zineluc account on Bluesky. I don't have capacity for
that right now, but might be able to take a turn at some point.

Thanks, Matthew, Violet, Ziba, and everyone who update and maintain zine
library presences!

I don't think there's much moderation needed for the Facebook or Discord
groups, but if anyone is interested in being an administrator on either of
those, please let me know. : )
